The previously sent note had an error in the first paragraph. When commenting on the mayor’s absence, minister Alexandre Padilha was referring to the mayor of Guarulhos, Guti (PSD), and not Ricardo Nunes, mayor of São Paulo, as he stated. Here is the corrected version:
The absences of the governor of São Paulo, Tarciso de Freitas (Republicans) and the mayor of Guarulhos, Guti (PSD), on the agenda of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in Guarulhos, metropolitan region of São Paulo, this Saturday, 25th, occurred due to leaders’ decisions, said the Minister of Institutional Relations, Alexandre Padilha. “President Lula invited the governor, invited the mayor,” he said, stating that the “time of conflict” is over.
“We will continue to invite you”, continued Padilha, during the inauguration of works on the Presidente Dutra highway. “The time of conflict, where there was a machine for producing federative conflict in the country, there on the third floor of the Palace, is over,” he said.
The minister joked by quoting singer Domenico Lancelotti. “There’s a song by Domenico that says ‘I invited you to a samba, you didn’t go, I’ll forget’. I’ll forget that you didn’t come, I’ll keep inviting you.” According to him, the invitation was made last Wednesday, the 22nd, as soon as the president confirmed the agenda.
