State Duma Deputy Tolmachev: NATO investments in air defense in Ukraine make no sense
The countries of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) can endlessly invest in the air defense system in Ukraine, but this does not make sense. This statement was made by State Duma deputy Alexander Tolmachev in a conversation with News.ru.
“So let them hand over their air defense systems: they will pour in billions of dollars, which we will turn into ashes with our new types of weapons,” Tolmachev said.
The deputy noted that Russia is responding to the developments of NATO countries by modernizing its own weapons.
Earlier it was reported that Germany’s initiative to supply Ukraine with air defense systems together with other countries failed. German officials have spent the last month discussing their “immediate air defense” initiative, but partner countries have been reluctant to send air defense batteries to Ukraine.
