The war between Israel and Hamas is increasingly escalating the television debate. The clash became particularly tough in the living room of DiMartedì, the program broadcast on La7, which saw Alessandro Di Battista and David Parenzo face each other. “The State of Israel is committing crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip. When will it stop? When will it murder 33 Palestinians for every compatriot killed?” says the former parliamentarian of the 5 Star Movement, citing Unicef numbers on the 2,360 children who died in the Jerusalem raid in response to the October 7 attacks. An annoyed David Parenzo replies: “A sort of Fosse Ardeatine in reverse? I’m amazed at her – replies the journalist -. They have to call an ambulance”. The former Grillino returns to reiterate his thesis that the Israeli retaliation is like that of the Nazis. “You have a truly ideological problem on this – Parenzo closes, distinguishing between Hamas as a terrorist group and Israel as a democracy -. In the State of Jerusalem there is a very strong public opinion which for 34 weeks (those of the protest on justice reform, ed. ) contested Netanyahu, saying that he was not fit to govern. You see the difference is all there, in the forces of democracies to regenerate and question themselves and dictatorships”.
