Gas, Pichetto Fratin: “Price cap at 160 euros per Mw/h”
“The request made essentially by Italy and Greece is 160 euros, naturally it is a question of finding a point of convergence and establishing the size of the spread. Gilberto Pichetto Fratin during the hearing on the lines Programs of your Dicastery in reference to the negotiations on the gas price ceiling.

Pichetto recalled that the group of 15 countries that support the price cap is “united” and discussions are underway on the proposal put forward by the European Commission which has moved from a ceiling of 275 euros per megawatt hour to 220 euros per megawatt hour. The minister he explained that the European Commission’s proposal will be discussed in the new extraordinary EU Council convened on 13 December. The interlocution, concluded Pichetto Fratin, “goes on with everyone, even with the front of the frugal countries”.
