2022 marks the arrival of the 15th anniversary of Assassin’s Creed. The beloved saga of assassins in different eras of history created by Ubisoft. Throughout these years he has presented us with amazing adventures that have taken us through the Caribbean, the Renaissance and the golden age of the Vikings.
With so many good deliveries, and to celebrate its anniversary, we started thinking about its best titles. That’s why today we bring this Top 5 with the best Assassin’s Creed games. We only ask that you do not use your hidden sheet if your favorite is not listed
Number 5.- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
We start this count with the most recent installment of the saga, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. A title that took us to the time of the Vikings, just when popular culture seems to be in love with this period. vallhalla gave us more of the gameplay we knew from its two previous installments. Besides that it further expanded the history and the relationship of the assassins with the ‘gods’.
His representation of the time was widely applauded. Not to mention, it allowed players to rub shoulders with various characters from Norse history and mythology. He even allowed us to visit the dwelling place of those gods. It’s just not higher on this list, because it’s already starting to get a bit repetitive. maybe with MirageUbisoft will be able to give one more twist to the formula of Assassin’s Creed.
Number 4.- Origins
Speaking of twists in the formula of the saga, one of his biggest came with Assassin’s Creed Origins. The adventure that we could say gave the franchise a second wind, came at a time when the ‘classic formula’ already seemed tedious to some players. But Bayek and his epic journey through Egypt gave us several welcome changes.
Its open world expanded much more than those of previous installments. His combat became more robust and added a skill tree to perfect our killer. And if that was not enough, Origins gave us one of his most captivating stories. Which also benefited from happening in one of the most interesting periods in history.
Number 3.- Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Everything we loved about Origins was corrected and expanded in its successor: Odyssey. In addition to that he moved the plot to ancient Greece. This was the first title in the saga that allowed players to choose their protagonists. This way they could feel more represented when traveling through this immense world in the shoes of Kassandra or Alexios.
His gameplay was also freer. You could hunt Kosmos cult members however you wanted. Although some remained locked until certain main missions. The story of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey it was also very interesting like that of its predecessor. In addition to the fact that its expansions on Atlantis and the Hidden Leaf gave more pleasant hours of play to a title that is already quite immense and varied.
Number 2.- Black Flag
Now we start to go back to the ‘classical’ time of Assassin’s Creed with its fourth installment: black-flag. Which made us all feel like Jack Sparrow in the Caribbean. In addition to giving us an excellent and entertaining maritime combat, it gave us one of the best protagonists: Edward Kenway.
Unlike his predecessors, he was not a creedal killer. He but a criminal who simply posed as one, but slowly evolves to join the fight. Its exploration of different islands and its enormous diversity of activities were applauded by critics. Which laid the foundations for the following titles in the saga.
Number 1.- Assassin’s Creed II
While we are very grateful to the first Assassin’s Creed for introducing us to this world. The title of the best game so far belongs to its sequel. Ezio’s adventure in Renaissance Italy was acclaimed by critics. He expanded the number of activities that could be done and allowed us to learn more about the mythology of the assassins.
It was also the first to place more emphasis on the role of historical figures. Since even Leonardo DaVinci is the supplier of many of your weapons. As if that were not enough, the final boss is the Pope himself. Not to mention that actual death dates of historical figures are highly respected.
Its entertaining open world, the perfect combination of historical facts with fiction and the most charismatic protagonist of the saga to date, make Assassin’s Creed II the best title of the Ubisoft franchise. Not for nothing Ezio Auditore is still one of his most recognizable faces.
We recommend you: Assassin’s Creed Infinity is the platform that will preserve the series
These were the games Assassin’s Creed that we consider the best. Perhaps in the future we will have to update this list with new installments to come. Do you agree with our top? What other titles do you think should have been here? Tell us in the comments!
