During an interview, Todd Howard was asked if Fallout and The Elder Scrolls will return with remastersbut apparently Bethesda is not working on such projects, focusing instead on the development of The Elder Scrolls VI and Starfield DLC.
According to the conclusions of journalist Jez Corden, Howard’s words imply that the rumored Fallout 3 remaster won’t happenand that similarly there will be no space for a remastered edition of Oblivion, especially since these are titles that are still playable on PC today.
The current state, Bethesda is focused on the future of its most important franchiseswith an obvious predilection at this specific moment for Fallout, thanks to the extraordinary success of the television series available on the Prime Video streaming platform.
This is an absolutely living intellectual property, explained Todd Howard: the developers are working on new ideas and they are thinking about it take advantage of Starfield’s sophisticated technology to create an even richer and more engaging Fallout experience.
Fallout, but not only
As reported a few hours ago, Fallout 5 is still far away and this should put everything into perspective a bit, given that the focus of the studio now is the creation of The Elder Scrolls VI, which however is still in the pre-production phase.
Also in this case Howard suggested the possibility that the new chapter uses the same technologies as Starfield in order to aspire to an extraordinary visual and structural sector: Bethesda knows well that fans’ expectations are high and will therefore not settle for anything less than absolutely exceptional.
Finally returning to Starfield, in the interview it was confirmed that it is the most ambitious project ever for the company and will continue to grow in an attempt to fully express its potential.
