According to the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires, Lior Rudaeff was murdered by Hamas on October 7 and “his body was kidnapped, and has remained in Gaza for seven months.”
The Argentine Foreign Ministry expressed its condolences to Rudaeff’s family and friends and reiterated its “emphatic and firm condemnation of the terrorist actions of Hamas, of which Mr. Rudaeff and other compatriots have been victims.”
“The Argentine Government once again demands the release with extreme urgency and without conditions of the Argentines who are still held hostage by the terrorist group,” the statement states.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the South American country, Argentina “is engaged in an effort accompanied by other countries with nationals in the same situation, to ensure that all hostages are promptly returned to their homes and families.”
For his part, the Argentine president, Javier Milei, also expressed his condolences to Rudaeff’s family and friends in a statement in which his Government highlighted “the courage, bravery and honor of Lior, who was in charge of security of his community and died defending his family.
In the statement, the Executive assures that it is one of its “great” priorities “to strengthen the Armed Forces so that all Argentines walk safely around the world, and know that they enjoy the absolute support of this Government.”
The Office of the President asserted that “these attacks will not go unpunished as was the case with previous Administrations” and that “the release of all the hostages who remain kidnapped by the Hamas terrorist organization will continue to be demanded.”
“We will continue working so that the world knows that every time an Argentine walks around the world, this Administration walks alongside him,” the statement concludes.
