On Tuesday, Kansas will vote on an amendment to the law that, if implemented, would remove the right to abortion based on state law. The voting result is a peek into the future of abortion rights in the United States.
of the United States all eyes are on Kansas, which will vote on Tuesday to repeal the state’s abortion rights.
The amendment, known as “Value Them Both,” would remove the right to abortion under Kansas state law. With that, it would be possible for decision-makers to enact laws that would prohibit abortion even in cases where the pregnancy has occurred as a result of rape or incest, or where it would endanger the mother’s health.
If the law change passes, it is very likely that the right to abortion will be tightened. Kansas has a clear Republican majority in the state legislature, and the state attempted to ban abortion earlier in 2013 without success.

Currently, abortion is allowed in Kansas up to the 22nd week of pregnancy.
At issue is the first vote on abortion rights since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in late June to overturn broad abortion rights.
The year 1973 Roe v. Wade -repeal of the advance ruling gave the states a free hand to decide on their own abortion legislation, stating that abortion is not a right enshrined in the US Constitution.
The decision to remove the broad abortion right that had been in effect for almost 50 years shook the United States, and large-scale protests have been seen around the country defending women’s right to decide over their own bodies.
