“Don’t do it, don’t do it, don’t do it.” This is what Joe Biden would say a Vladimir Putin if the Russian president, cornered by the Ukrainian recovery on the ground, decides to resort to nuclear weapons. Answering questions in ’60 minutes’, the US president added that such a move by Putin would change “the course of the war like nothing else since the Second World War.”
And to the interviewer who asked what would be the consequences of such an action by Putin, Biden replied: “Do you think I would tell you if I knew exactly what they would be? Of course I will not say” but the answers “would be consequential”. The Russians, he added in the interview that will be broadcast on Sunday and of which the CBS gave some previews, “would become more and more pariahs in the world and depending on the extent of what they have done, the answer to be given would be determined”.
