The head of the company “Naftogaz” Yuriy Vitrenko said that Ukraine cannot yet ensure the flow of gas from alternative sources, reports RIA News, quoting “RBK-Ukraine”.
Vitrenko acknowledged that there is no alternative to Russian gas, since at the moment ships with LNG – liquefied natural gas – cannot enter the country. He also called the supply of regasified LNG fuel from the terminal in Poland impossible.

The head of Naftogaz added that Poland should modernize the gas pipeline system and expand their bottlenecks. However, Warsaw does not show the initiative for this, since it is waiting for investments to achieve these goals from Europe.
“If we want to resolve the issue of physical security and diversification of physical security, then this is the issue of our own LNG terminal. He rests against the passage through the Bosphorus so far. Turkey does not allow LNG tankers to cross the Bosphorus. There is talk that if there is a new Istanbul canal, it is possible that tankers will be passed through this canal. But when it will be, it is an open question. This is not the case yet, ”Vitrenko concluded.
Earlier, Naftogaz filed a complaint against Gazprom with the European Union. The Ukrainian company accused the Russian of a sharp reduction in fuel supplies, which provoked a record increase in the cost of the resource in Europe.
