Traffic accidents were recorded in the Emirate of Sharjah during the Eid Al-Adha holiday during the period from 9 to 11 July (zero) deaths, while the call center of the Central Operations Room received 22,112 phone calls between emergency and non-emergency.
The Deputy Director of the Operations Department of Sharjah Police, Lt. Col. Hamid Obaid Al Hajri, confirmed that the presence of security and traffic patrols on various areas and internal and external roads in the city of Sharjah and the eastern and central regions with the aim of securing and ensuring the facilitation of traffic has resulted in the success of the security and traffic plan aimed at achieving the objectives of Sharjah Police in line with The Ministry of Interior’s strategy to enhance security and safety and make roads safer.
Lieutenant-Colonel Al-Hajri revealed that the Operations Room and the Sharjah Police Contact Center received 22,112 phone calls across the emirate during the holiday, including 20,866 phone calls via the number /999/ designated for emergency cases, while (1246) non-emergency calls were received on the number /901/ Which included general inquiries and police services provided, pointing out that all incoming calls, reports and inquiries were dealt with promptly.
