A 65-year-old tourist from Guarulhos was found dead in Ilhabela (state coast), last Saturday, the 20th, after having gone out on a boat to fish in the southern region of the city on Friday, the 19th.
Preliminary information from the Fire Department indicates that the vessel capsized and that the victim was dragged to a rocky slope, close to a restaurant, where the body was located.
The victim was identified as Tsuyoshi. On the boat, he was in the company of Albino Yoshimassa, 71, and Tairom, 31, also residents of Guarulhos, who are missing.
The search for the pair continues into the third day and is coordinated by teams from the 11th Fire Brigade and the Maritime Fire Brigade, which have the help of boats and the Águia helicopter.
According to firefighters, the trio had gone fishing around 3pm on Friday, the 19th, in a small aluminum boat, leaving from the Borrifos neighborhood. Around 9 pm, the crew, however, had not yet returned.
According to the incident report, the housekeeper at the accommodation where the fishermen were staying heard screams coming from the sea and told the firefighters that she saw a person on the rocks, close to the coast that gives access to the Nova York restaurant, in the south of Ilhabela.
In a first search attempt, on Friday night, the victim's body was not located due to the low light and the sea being “rough”, as the Fire Department described it.
The following day, Saturday, Tsuyoshi was found by rescue teams, who also located the fishermen's backpacks. Death was confirmed and the tourist's body was taken to the Legal Medical Institute of Caraguatatuba, on the coast of São Paulo.
The other two fishermen remained missing until this Sunday morning. According to the Fire Department, the search has been hampered by the tide, strong winds and low visibility in the area.
