As part of the humanitarian efforts to support the health sector in the Gaza Strip, the United Arab Emirates seeks, as part of Operation “Gallant Knight 3,” to rehabilitate the Nasser Medical Complex in the city of Khan Yunis during the coming period, which was subjected to widespread vandalism, so that it can return to work and receive patients and injured people after it has stopped operating. Work and stop its departments, equipment and medical staff, and to improve the quality of medical services provided to the displaced.
The UAE was quick to study the hospital’s needs, immediately announcing its readiness to rehabilitate it and supply it with the necessary needs.
Dr. Atef Al-Hout, Director General of Nasser Medical Complex, said, “The white hands of the UAE extended a helping hand today, yesterday, and at all times, when the Palestinian people needed aid, and they always provided services to the Palestinian people.”
The hospital departments were burned and vandalized, and are scheduled to return to work after Emirati relief efforts to provide treatment services to approximately one and a half million people in the south of the Gaza Strip.
In turn, Hani Barbakh, Supervisor of the Emergency Departments and Industrial College at Nasser Medical Complex, said, “It is not strange for the UAE to support the Palestinian people, and it is not strange for them to stand by the Palestinian people, especially the health sector, so we hope that they will extend a helping hand and contribute to the rehabilitation.” this place”.
The UAE seeks to support all residents of Gaza and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian relief aid to them in light of the tragic conditions that the Strip is going through, to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian families and those who are distressed by the lack of the basics of life and the difficulty of providing basic necessities, and to alleviate the severity of the humanitarian conditions that the population is suffering from. In a related context, Dr. Imad Al-Awar, Acting Health Officer at UNRWA, said during a visit by a delegation from the UN agency to the Emirati field hospital in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, to see the medical services provided by the hospital, and the departments, equipment and modern medical devices that it seeks. As part of Operation “Gallant Knight 3,” the UAE launched the Emirati field hospital in the city of Rafah on December 3, 2023, with a capacity of 200 beds.
The hospital includes surgical operating rooms qualified to perform various types of surgeries, including general surgery, pediatric surgery, and vascular surgery, intensive care rooms for adults and children, an anesthesia department, and specialized clinics, including: internal medicine, dentistry, orthopedics, psychiatry, family medicine, and pediatrics. And gynecology, as well as supportive medical services.
The state also launched the Emirati floating hospital in the Egyptian port of Al-Arish, to provide the necessary treatment services and medical support to our Palestinian brothers coming from the Gaza Strip.
The floating hospital, which is being established in cooperation with the Department of Health Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Ports Group, includes a medical and administrative staff consisting of 100 people from various specialties, including anesthesia, general surgery, orthopedics, and emergency services, in addition to nurses and ancillary professions.
The hospital has a capacity of 100 beds and includes operating rooms, intensive care, radiology, a laboratory, a pharmacy, and medical warehouses.
