Loading of nuclear fuel into the Kursk NPP-2 reactor was scheduled for November 2024
Loading of nuclear fuel into the reactor of power unit No. 1 of Kursk NPP-2 is scheduled for November 2024. This was announced by the General Director of Rosenergoatom, Alexander Shutikov, as quoted by RIA News.
“Our task is to begin hot testing in August, to start loading the core in November, in order to put the unit into commercial operation at the end of 2025,” Shutikov said.
Earlier it was reported that the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) is operating as normal amid an attempted attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). It was noted that power units No. 3 and No. 4 operate at the power set by the dispatch schedule. Power units No. 1 and No. 2, in turn, operate in the “no generation” operating mode.
