His vast career in the medical sector and his studies in public administration led to Éctor Jaime Ramírez Barba to become a key politician of the BREAD. As a federal representative, he assures to maintain his fight for decent health for Mexicans. Go a federal government incapable of advancing on the matter and that, on the contrary, takes initiatives that mean a delay for citizens and for electoral purposes.
What is your opinion about these five years of Moreno government in terms of health in Mexico?
I had never seen, in my 45 years as a doctor, andThe disaster that this government has made with health. The president does not care about the health of Mexicans and never has.
When you analyze the macro indicators of this country, you realize, for example, that in aspects as basic as vaccination were frankly abolished, only one in five children has the complete vaccination package and schedule. That is the cheapest, most effective and careless. MMexico is the champion of the number of deaths of doctors and health professionals by pandemic, due to presidential carelessness. Mexico decreased life expectancy by four years among the 130 million Mexicans due to presidential neglect in handling the pandemic. The number of people who are going blind or dying due to kidney disease, due to not being treated in time by this government, has increased significantly. My evaluation of those five years, with the president having spent five billion pesos on health, is that it has been a tragedy. There is no supply of medicines, appointments are very long, he has not consolidated any institution, he has destroyed coordination between institutions, he has centralized tragedy after tragedy, a president who does not understand.
What do you think of the president's reform initiative to make health care universal with care and medications for everyone?
It is a truism truth. The right to health was incorporated into the Constitution in 1983, more than 30 years ago. The president, in June 2020, put the Health System for Wellbeing in the Constitution and today he wants to simply put a higher title in an aspect that is frankly electoral, but that has not been seen in the actions. In this initiative, if you are going to see yourself in the background, when you have to ask the Treasury to say where the money is going to come from, the Treasury says that no money is needed, because The president is not putting in any new institutions, he is not increasing any health programs, he is not putting in any new infrastructure. and he will not have any more medications. In other words, the Treasury says that what the president presented are only letters for electoral purposes.
How do you observe the current electoral panorama?
Well, don't let people forget. Don't forget that the people who died did not die because they were fat, they did not die because they smoked, they did not die because they had lung disease, they died because the president was negligent with the entire federal government to care for them in time. People cannot forget that they are spending much more on medicines. If they go and make an appointment, they won't give them one. If they go and make an appointment and they give it to you and they give you a prescription, they won't fill it. That's not normal.
The PAN has the Plasma that Saves initiative. What can you tell us about that?
The altruism of blood donation, which is very good, barely covers 5 percent of the needs from this country. This altruism, moreover, is sometimes obligatory. If you want to have surgery in a hospital, they ask for blood. So, It is a conditional matter. What we are promoting now is a compensation mechanism. That is, go back a little so that people who donate blood, who donate plasma, between the ages of 18 and 60, have an additional compensation mechanism. And with this, then there would be a compensation mechanism, whether economic, it would be based on each institution, to have this availability of blood, as is already happening in the United States. And you, a unit of blood, can fragment it into different components. You can make packages of globular concentrates, for people who only use red blood cells; It can be a concentrate of platelet packets, for people who only use platelets for certain diseases. Or blood plasma.
