From the City Council they indicate that the traffic will not be cut
The Murcia City Council reported that the Paseo de Garay in the city of Murcia will have one lane less due to the refurbishment works on the sidewalk and road that begin this Wednesday at the height of the courts. Despite this temporary change in traffic, vehicles passing through the area will not be affected as one of the lanes will remain open.
These actions are part of the improvement plan that is being carried out through ‘In Situ’ in the municipality of Murcia. In this way, this avenue will improve its circulation, leveling the pavement so that there are no puddles on rainy days. In this way, the council intends to solve several problems of narrowing and improving the area, among them: the removal of five trees and replacement with new ones, since their inclination prevented the passage of pedestrians safely.
In addition, the sidewalk will be completely renovated since most of its slabs were raised by the movement of earth caused by the roots of the trees. The sidewalk will be widened by 50 centimeters, leveling it with the rest of the upper river walk. The access ramp is also being improved, making it wider and with less slope, and the area is going to be resurfaced to eliminate the large puddle that was produced on rainy days.
