My condolences to the families of the victims.”wrote on Friday (May 3).
In addition to the products that will be transported with the support of the Post Office, the Federal Revenue Service will transport another 30 tons of blankets, coats and clothing items that are in the agency’s warehouse in Foz do Iguaçu (PR). The Tax Authorities will also make available in the coming days the use of the institution’s drones to assist Civil Defense in assessing the damage caused by the rains and in the search for missing people.
Correios made the branch network in São Paulo, Paraná and part of the units in Rio Grande do Sul available to receive donations, such as basic food items, personal hygiene products and clothing. The public company will also donate products such as clothing and household items to those affected by the rain.
These are objects that have gone through all delivery attempts and have not been searched for by recipients or senders, in addition to exceeding the legal deadline of 90 days estimated in the Consumer Protection Code.
The number of deaths due to the rains in Rio Grande do Sul reached 55, according to information released this Saturday (May 4, 2024) by the State Civil Defense, with 7 deaths being confirmed. Another 67 people remain missing.
