Mexico City.- With the support of the opposition, Morena pushed for the approval of the opinion that urges the Chamber of Deputies to “expand the dialogue” with the sectors involved in the analysis of the reform of the Judiciary proposed by President López Obrador.
Within the First Commission of the Permanent Commission of the Congress of the Union that will discuss the matter tomorrow, the ruling was unanimously approved with 13 votes.
In the logic that the essential point of the reform is the election of ministers and judges by popular vote, the Morenoist deputy, Yeidckol Polevnsky, was quick to clarify that people without the proper track record could not be elected.
“Neither my friend nor the guy from the little store,” he illustrated.
For the PRI, Senator Beatriz Paredes Rangel and Representative Sue Ellen Bernal supported the ruling. but at the same time they demanded that the exercise of expanding dialogue with forums and the figure of Open Parliament not represent “a simulation.”
“For it to make sense, they should not be simulation exercises. And when there are contributions that, due to the weight of their reason or foundation, can be weighed and valued. That is what gives meaning to Open Parliaments,” Paredes Rangel reasoned. .
The Morenoist senator, Israel Zamora, intervened to express his disagreement with judging “a priori” with simulation scenarios.
“But the time will come when the differences will be insurmountable, because these are two visions of the Nation,” he warned.
His co-religionist Imelda Castro showed the spirit that has characterized her colleagues on the bench: “We must not forget, she replied, that there is a popular mandate and the final decision (the eventual approval of the reform) implies a popular mandate.”
For the PRD, Senator Miguel Ángel Mancera intervened to propose that “the support of the Congress Channel be requested, in all its broadcasts, on television and on digital platforms, for the proper dissemination of the forums.”
