Saw provided an update on his mystery “super game“in a recent corporate report for 2022, reaffirming the company’s commitment to the project and stating that it will come out within the fiscal year ending March 2026.
In a section of the report dedicated to the company’s “long-term goals”, we talk about how Sega is “trying to create a super game“, that would be a”important title“with global release. The company is”currently developing“the title and states that”the ultimate goal“is to create something so revolutionary that it attracts more users than any other project I’ve worked on.
According to the CEO Haruki Satomi, Sega believes the project could potentially reach a turnover of 100 billion yen (just over 670 million dollars). Sega hopes to achieve this by attracting a large community of players, streamers and viewers.
“This type of community will further develop the game’s content, adding unimaginable value for developers and triggering a wider movement, which can attract even more users and dramatically grow the game’s presence.“.
In another section of the report where reference is made to this “super game”, prominent IPs such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Persona, Phantasy Star, Total War and Yakuza are shown in a section dedicated to strengthening the global branding of existing IPs .
