Three Seattle Police officers shot dead a 67-year-old man on Wednesday when he was about to be arrested as part of an operation against pedophilia and sexual crimes on the Internet. According to Police Chief Adrián Díaz, the suspect believed he was going to meet two girls, ages 7 and 11, at a hotel when he was surprised by officers.

The authorities – the Force Investigation Team (FIT) – are already investigating why the intervention at the DoubleTree hotel resulted in the death of the suspect. The images of the police action have come to light in the last few hours and they show how the accused takes a gun out of his jacket when he meets the officers. “Gun!” shouts one of the police officers, while another tries to block the alleged pedophile. In a matter of seconds, the agents begin shooting at the man until he is killed.
According to the police report of the action, one of the officers was shot in the leg, although he did not require hospital care.
