Saudi Arabia reveals the conditions for performing Hajj this year
Today, Sunday, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah revealed the conditions and recommendations that were adopted during this year’s Hajj season, which include immunization against a number of diseases, as well as recommendations to countries regarding the health status of the guests of God coming to the Kingdom.
The Ministry explained, in a statement, that the necessary immunizations for those wishing to perform Hajj from within the Kingdom this year, which must be documented in the “My Health” application, are: one dose of the developed “Covid-19” vaccine, and one dose of the influenza vaccine, which must have been given during the year 2024. One dose of the meningitis vaccine must have been given within the past five years.
As for pilgrims from outside the Kingdom, the Ministry has stressed the need for the pilgrim to have received the Neisseria meningitis vaccine, so that the period since receiving this vaccine should not be less than 10 days and not more than 5 years.
The health authority, in the country from which the pilgrim came, must ensure that he receives the vaccine on time, and write the name of the vaccine used and the date of obtaining it in the vaccination certificate. It is also mandatory immunizations for the pilgrim to receive at least one dose of the bivalent oral polio vaccine or the inactivated polio vaccine.
For its part, the Saudi Ministry of Health recommended that the countries from which the pilgrim comes take into account that he is free of diseases that conflict with the minimum physical ability, and with which the pilgrim cannot perform the rituals, “advanced renal failure that requires hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis, and advanced heart failure whose symptoms appear in “The state of rest or with minimal physical effort, and chronic lung diseases that require intermittent or continuous use of oxygen.”
The Ministry explained that the matter also includes advanced cirrhosis accompanied by signs of liver failure such as: ascites, variceal bleeding, or bouts of loss or loss of consciousness, in addition to severe neurological diseases that impair cognition or are accompanied by severe motor disabilities, and old age accompanied by dementia.
Saudi Health also recommended that pilgrims with chronic diseases ensure that they carry evidence of their health condition, in addition to a sufficient quantity of the medications they are taking, and ensure that these medications are in their original packaging, in addition to being immunized against the targeted diseases with basic immunizations such as diphtheria, tetanus, and whooping cough. Polio, measles, and smallpox.
