Fraudsters have started using schemes to exchange money for digital rubles
Fraudsters have come up with a new scheme related to the digital ruble, he warned Telegram– channel “Bulletin of the Cyber Police of Russia”. Attackers began sending messages to Russians on behalf of the Bank of Russia, claiming that cash and non-cash rubles have become an “outdated format” and need to be exchanged for digital currency.
“To do this, you need to transfer money to a special account, and preferably urgently. If you don’t do as the scammers say, then the money on a person’s bank card will simply “burn out,” the publication says. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded that the digital ruble does not replace cash and non-cash money, and offers to exchange funds or transfer them to a “safe account” can only come from criminals.
Earlier, the Center for Digital Expertise of Roskachestvo reported that during the holidays, scammers invent new schemes to deceive Russians when selling air tickets. There are other ways that scammers resort to to deceive Russians. One of them is phishing sites.
