Russia attacked several Ukrainian regions for the second consecutive day early on Tuesday causing at least two deaths in the city of Krivi Rig in central Ukraine and two others in Zaporizhia in the south-east, regional authorities reported.

“Unfortunately, despite the effective work of our air defence, four people were killed and 16 injured,” lamented the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelensky, on Telegram.
“Crimes against humanity cannot be committed with total impunity,” added the president, who accused Moscow of having attacked “civilians and infrastructure.”
Local media reported explosions in kyiv and other regions of the country. In the capital, some of the explosions could be heard from the city centre.
However, life in kyiv returned to normal in the morning, with residents going to work as usual. The picture was different from the previous day when hundreds of people took refuge in basements on Monday in kyiv to protect themselves from massive Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

Ukrainian air defenses destroyed five missiles and sixty drones in the early hours of Tuesday out of more than ninety devices of these two types launched early this morning by Russia against Ukrainian territory, according to a report published by the Ukrainian Air Force.
Among the missiles launched by Russia are three Kinzhal hypersonic missiles that have not been intercepted, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
Fifteen drones and several missiles have been destroyed near kyiv, the head of the military administration in the Ukrainian capital, Sergey Popko, said.
Russian forces have already launched 127 missiles and 109 drones on Monday, most of which were intercepted by Ukrainian air defences.
Missiles and drones that were not shot down hit electricity and gas infrastructure in various regions of the country, forcing Ukrainian authorities to reintroduce emergency power outages.
The country’s main energy supplier, DETK, had already warned on Monday that power cuts could be prolonged in the capital, in the major cities of Dnipro and Odessa and in the Donetsk region, where the eastern front of the war is located.
The attack, which targeted the Ukrainian energy system, also claimed the lives of at least four civilians in as many regions of Ukraine.
Ukraine claims to control 100 towns in Kursk
Faced with repeated air strikes on its territory, Ukraine has stepped up its bombing of Russian territory in recent months, especially in border regions.

The governor of Russia’s Belgorod region, which also borders and neighbours Kursk, said he had received reports of another attempted incursion by Ukrainian armed forces.
“According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the situation on the border is difficult, but under control,” Vyacheslav Gladkov said on Telegram.
According to the Russian Telegram channel MASH, which is considered close to the Kremlin, Ukrainian soldiers are trying to enter the region through the town of Nekhoteyevka, where fighting is currently taking place.

In Ukraine, the Russian army claimed the capture of the town of Orlivka as it advanced towards the mining town of Pokrovsk, an important logistical hub on the Eastern Front.
