The number of requests for judicial recovery reached the highest monthly increase in 6 years. In April, 184 companies filed the request. The number had not been this high since March 2018 – when 190 requests were recorded. The data comes from the Bankruptcy and Judicial Recovery Indicator of Serasa Experian.
Micro and small companies were those that had the highest number of orders in the period analyzed. The profile is also repeated for the sector in which they operate: the services sector is the one that closes the most doors. In April alone, there were 75 belonging to this category. In commerce, 54, in industry, 20 and, in the primary sector, 35.
“The number of judicial recoveries [em abril] reflects the difficult financial environment that companies are currently experiencing, still reflecting the interest rates in the country”declared the economist at Serasa Experian, Luiz Rabi.
April also represented the 5th consecutive month of increase. Since December, there has been an increase in the number of orders. Here is the data for the last year (to open in another tab, click here):
Bankruptcies
The number of bankruptcies does not keep up with the increase in requests for judicial recovery. In April, 90 companies had to close their businesses. Micro and small enterprises were the ones that closed their doors the most (53).
