Her Excellency Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, headed the UAE delegation to the friendly Commonwealth of Australia.
The visit aims to strengthen cooperation between the two friendly countries in the political, economic and trade fields.
His Excellency Al Hashemi and the accompanying delegation, which includes Dr. Fahad Obaid Al-Itfaq, the UAE Ambassador to Australia, and officials from the EDGE Holding Group, began her visit with a meeting with His Excellency Anthony Albanese, Prime Minister of Australia in the capital, Canberra, in the presence of His Excellency Penny Wong, Australian Foreign Minister, during which the meeting took place Emphasizing the importance that the UAE and Australia attach to consolidating and developing bilateral relations, as the two countries will celebrate next year the fiftieth anniversary of the exchange of diplomatic relations between them. The two sides also discussed cooperation in the field of trade, investment, aviation and renewable energy, and Her Excellency Al Hashemi confirmed that relations between the two countries are constantly developing, which is reflected in the exchange of high-level visits between the two friendly countries over the past years.
His Excellency Reem Al Hashemi also met with His Excellency Richard Marles, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Australia, and discussed with him bilateral relations and the prospects for strengthening them in various fields. The two sides stressed the keenness of the leadership of the two friendly countries to strengthen economic and trade cooperation paths, and raise them to new levels of growth and prosperity, including It serves their future aspirations and visions.
Her Excellency affirmed the UAE’s condemnation of acts of violence against humanitarian workers, stressing the importance of countries respecting international humanitarian law.

Her Excellency and the accompanying delegation visited the War Memorial, where Her Excellency laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and also placed a wreath at the Humanitarian Monument in Canberra in honor of the memory of Australian Mrs. Zumi Frankum.
