Paying with your mobile at the cash register will be more popular by the end of this year than paying with your debit card. This is what De Nederlandsche Bank and the Dutch Payments Association predict after research. One in three people already paid at the cash register with their smartphone last December. Partly as a result, the share of payments made with a debit card fell from 10 percent to 8 percent.
