Brazil does not have cities among the 200 best in the world, according to a new ranking by Oxford Economics.
The complete list reaches a thousand municipalities and chooses the best according to 27 indicators, including economic, human capital, quality of life, environment and governance metrics.
They are economic, educational and political centers, in addition to representing, in 2023, 60% of global GDP and more than 30% of the world population.

Brazil
The best placed Brazilian city, among the 29 that appear overall, is São Paulo, in 294th place. The index follows with Brasília (309th), Rio de Janeiro (356th), Campinas (384th) and Florianópolis (395th).
One of São Paulo’s highlights is its human capital (102nd place), associated with education, universities and company headquarters, for example. On the other hand, the city lacks in quality of life (604th place), linked to life expectancy, per capita income, income equality and housing spending.
In terms of quality of life, Florianópolis ranks best, in 423rd place. In last place among Brazilian women is Maceió (794th). However, the capital of Alagoas appears in 20th place in terms of environment.
Latin America
The Latin American list is led by Santiago, Chile (119th position); Mexico City, Mexico (250th); Buenos Aires, Argentina (275th) and Lima, Peru (283rd); then the capital of São Paulo appears.
