Rally driver Sami Pajari made his debut in the main class of the World Rally Championship in Rally1 in Latvia. The competition will be held in July.
22-year-old Pajari gets his driving seat thanks to the World Rally Championship promoter and the Toyota rally team.
“Pajari was selected for this opportunity because he rocketed through the WRC classes in recent years,” the WRC press release said.
Pajari is the youngest driver who has received an opportunity in the main class with the support of the promoter. Acts as his map reader Enni Mälkönen.
Pottery is currently fourth in the World Championship points in the WRC2 class. He has participated in three of the six World Cup races and won the WRC2 race of the previous World Rally Championship in Sardinia. Earlier in the season, he finished second in Sweden.
“I don’t even know where to start. This feels incredible. This is also a great relief, because I have been working for this opportunity for years,” Pajari made WRC happy bulletin by.
“I think it’s a good solution to use this opportunity in Latvia, because the special exams are mainly fast and flexible. I have adapted quite well to such conditions in Finland. This is also a completely new competition for almost everyone.”

Rally The World Series continues from the 27th to the 30th. in June at the Polish competition. There are no Finns in the main category in that race. The Latvian World Rally Championship is scheduled for 18.–21. July. After that, it’s the Finnish World Cup Rally (August 1–4).
