Repercussion
Hubert Alquéres, former state secretary of Education of SP and president of the Academy, told APE that the teacher’s departure means that “we have lost a dear friend but, above all, a giant educator, who worked tirelessly for quality education in our state” .
“He was a teacher, formulator of public policies and made great reflections on Brazilian public education. He deserves to be revered and remembered by future generations of educators,” said Alquéres.
Marcia Lígia Di Roberto Guidin, book editor and educator, stated that she owes “many teachings” to Nathanael. “I saw and heard him say that in recent years he was very discouraged with the direction of our schools. It’s time to rest, dear education warrior of this country. Join other greats; I hope things get better so that we can, of all places, be proud of our country.”
Walter Vicioni, educator and former president of Senai, stated that this is “sad news” and regretted not being able to attend the wake, as he was out of the country at the moment. “May our good God welcome the soul of our confrere Paulo Nathanael, in his eternal home, and comfort the hearts of his family and friends.”
