Poison Ivy, a famous character from the Batman narrative universe, may soon have a film dedicated to her. It would be a total novelty, as the superheroine has never received a film dedicated to her but she simply appeared in Batman & Robin, a film released in 1997 and directed by Joel Schumacher.
That, in fact, was the superheroine’s only film appearance, but, at this point, it might not be the only one. As mentioned, a film dedicated to Poison Ivy would already be in production and would be released on HBO Maxthe well-known streaming platform of the US cable broadcaster.
No cinema on the horizon, therefore, but it would still be a very interesting, new project that would flesh out the DC Extended Universe. At the moment, however, we must remember that since this is not official information, it must absolutely be taken with a grain of salt.
Who will play Poison Ivy? There is no news in this sense, but it would be wonderful to see the extraordinary Uma Thurman at work. The current interpreter of the superheroine is, however, Nicole Kangwho is playing her role in the Batwoman TV series.
However, according to what the sources of this indiscretion report, this film would not be part of the same timeline as the aforementioned seriesbut it will go to place itself inside the DC Extended Universe. As a result, we may have a new Poison Ivy performer.
The appeal of Margot Robbie, who plays Harley Quinn in several films of the DC cinematic universe, and who wanted at all costs the return of the superheroine expert in botany and toxicology in the DCEU would not have remained, therefore, unheard..
No other details about this new film are known at the moment. So we just have to wait and, in the meantime, recover The Batman, the latest film dedicated to the figure of the bat man that has been so successful with critics and audiences. And you, who would you like to see as Poison Ivy?
