The south of Brazil is suffering historic flooding due to rain and the overflowing of several rivers. There are more than a hundred dead or missing, although it is believed that the numbers will increase when the water recedes. Half a million people have had to abandon their razed homes. It is one of the largest cases of climate migration in the country’s recent history and will cause entire cities to have to relocate.
