The authorities do not plan to introduce martial law in individual regions of the Russian Federation after March 8. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, during a conference on Thursday, called such statements a “duck.”
“No, those are ducks. It’s all in social networks and so on – it’s all pure “ducks”. Then citizens send them to each other and so on. Therefore, you need to be very careful about all the information and not become victims of the usual rumors and deceptions, ”Peskov said.
According to him, unreliable information is also that in the near future, citizens of military age may allegedly be banned from leaving the Russian Federation.
To a quote by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov that war plans are hatched against Russia, and an attack on the Russian Armed Forces is the basis for the introduction of martial law, he replied that he did not understand what it was about.
“I did not hear Lavrov’s statement. Did he mean a direct war or a war that is going on: trade, information, economic? Maybe you mean it? ”, The spokesman commented on the situation.
On the same day, Dmitry Peskov announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin would hold a meeting with members of the Security Council on March 3. During the meeting, the head of state may discuss with members of the Security Council the losses of the Armed Forces (AF) of the Russian Federation during a special operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass.

The Ukrainian authorities accused the Russian Federation of hitting its military infrastructure, martial law was introduced throughout the country. Kyiv also severed diplomatic relations with Moscow and recalled its diplomats from the embassy.
The Russian side emphasized that it does not hatch plans for the occupation of Ukraine, and strikes are carried out only on the military infrastructure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Prior to that, on February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognizing the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DNR and LNR), as well as treaties of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance with the republics. The documents were ratified the next day.
The head of state made the relevant decisions against the backdrop of the aggravation of the situation in Donbass that began on February 17. The DPR and LPR reported heavy shelling by Ukrainian security forces, including from heavy weapons. The republics announced a general mobilization and evacuation of civilians to the territory of Russia.
