North Korea scientists have made a “brilliant leap” in technology to equip ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads, the state-run KCNA news agency claimed on Sunday.

At the same time a dictator Kim Jong-un said his country’s goal is to have the world’s largest nuclear arsenal, Reuters news agency reported, citing North Korean state media.

Kim recently oversaw the test launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) called the Hwasong-17. He called it the most powerful strategic weapon in the world and awarded promotions to dozens of officers involved in the launch.

The daughter of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un appeared in public for the first time in connection with the missile launch.
