Don’t expect news on Mortal Kombat and in particular the reveal of a new game during the course ofEvo 2022: Ed Boon confirmed that NetherRealm Studios hasn’t no ads scheduled for the series.
Yesterday Sony announced the PlayStation Evo Lounge, a show that will air on August 5 and 6 on the occasion of the twentieth edition of the most important event in the fighting game scenario, offering all-round coverage and promising reveal from publisher and developers, including Warner Bros Games, the parent company of NetherRealm Studios.
Many therefore hoped for some news related to the Mortal Kombat brand, if not the announcement with great fanfare of Mortal Kombat 12but apparently they will have to wait a long time.
With a post on Twitter, Ed Boon specified that there will be nothing related to Mortal Kombat among the Evo 2022 announcements, suggesting rather to look with interest at Street Fighter and the other fighting games that will be present during the event. However, it is not excluded that it could be a move to mislead fans and then surprise them during the event, although we believe this hypothesis rather unlikely.
In any case, the news for lovers of fighting games will certainly not miss during the Evo 2022. Among the most quoted announcements there are those relating to the new Season Pass and the cross-platform for Guilty Gear Strive, a possible DLC for The King of Fighters 15, as well as updates on Street Fighter 6.
