The Matrix: resurrections has everything ready for its world premiere. The fourth installment in the saga will feature Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss as Neo and Trinity; However, much has been said about the absence of Laurence Fishburne in his iconic role as Morpheus, who will simply be replaced by an alternate version.
However, during The Game Awards 2021, Warner Bros. has released an official scene from the film directed by Lana Wachowski and, to the surprise of fans, the Morpheus Fishburne has been ‘resurrected’.

The past and the present come together
In the featured clip, we see Neo entering a mysterious room through a mirror, unlike phone lines as was done before. In this sequence, Reeves’ character is led by Bugs (Jessica Henwick) to meet Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Morpheus.
At the moment that Neo and the new version of his old mentor are together, on the walls we can see the projections of a famous scene from the first installment of the franchise: when the protagonist is explained what the Matrix is about. Thus, the question arises: Why do we see these memories?
“It’s all about setting,” the role played by Abdul-Mateen II is heard saying. In addition, Bugs explains that Neo and the Matrix 4 Morpheus’ first meeting went wrong, so they thought that passages from the past could help make this experience more bearable in the present: “Nothing comforts anxiety like a little nostalgia”, Specifies Yahya’s role.
