Multiple reports indicated that Russian forces are about to launch massive air strikes and missile attacks on Kiev, according to a Sky News Arabia correspondent quoting Ukrainian media.
“In 30-60 minutes Kiev will be under an unprecedented attack. Russia will hit us with everything it has,” our envoy from Kiev said, quoting a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Lesya Vasylenko, as saying.
Gunfire was heard in the center of the capital, Kiev, not far from government buildings, and sirens sounded again in the city.
And local Ukrainian media reported that the Russian army was carrying out airdrops southwest of Kiev.
The mayor of the city of Mykolaiv Oblast, Vitaly Kim, said that Russian tanks attacked the city, and were moving on its roads, according to a Sky News Arabia correspondent in Kiev.
He stated that clashes continued in the city of Kharkiv and its environs in northeastern Ukraine, at a time when Ukrainian media reported that electricity had been cut off at the central train station in Kiev due to the clashes.
