Warner Bros announced today that James Gunn and the producer Peter Safran they will head a division that will replace DC Films. The two will be Co-CEO of this, which will oversee all upcoming DC movies, but also projects dedicated to TV and animation. The two now report directly to the CEO of WB Discovery, David Zaslav.
According to the report, the two will work shoulder to shoulder sharing the tasks: on the one hand Gunn will concentrate on the creative side of the studio, while Peter Safran will manage the part concerning the business and production area. The news was published by Hollywood Reporter, and was shared – as you can see from the tweet – also by those directly involved on their social networks. James Gunn himself was few words, but more than exhaustive “Accurate. Very happy to be here “.
Gunn had already anticipated that the third de Guardians of the Galaxy for Marvel it would have been the last film directed for that series, and now more than ever we have a hard time believing it. Their hiring for this role ultimately confirms Zaslav’s willingness to find a figure (at this point two) playing a role at Kevin Feige by Marvel.
