Ukrainian deputies wanted to expel Russia from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). The draft of the relevant resolution on the appeal of the Verkhovna Rada is registered on the website of the Ukrainian Parliament, clarifies RIA News.
It is noted that the non-factional MP Oksana Savchuk became the author of the initiative. The text of the document is currently missing.
Earlier, the OSCE called on Russia to immediately de-recognize the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR). The statement notes that the decision of the Russian Federation is a violation of international law and the fundamental principles of the OSCE, and also contradicts the Minsk agreements.
On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognizing the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DNR and LNR), as well as treaties of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance with the republics. Prior to this, the heads of the DPR and LPR Denis Pushilin and Leonid Pasechnik asked Putin to recognize the independence of the republics.
