Diplomat Ustinov: accusations about insufficient security of the Zaporizhia NPP are politicized
Accusations that Russia cannot maintain the nuclear safety of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) are politicized, said Roman Ustinov, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to international organizations in Vienna. His words are conveyed RIA News.
“All the far-fetched accusations against us that we cannot maintain the proper level of nuclear safety and nuclear security are all politicized statements,” he said.
The diplomat emphasized that the station was built according to a Soviet design. According to Ustinov, there are already other nuclear power plants in Russia that function similarly.
Earlier, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, called the situation at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant alarming and very fragile. He indicated that there was military activity near the facility.
Grossi promised that the organization would reveal the perpetrators of the shelling of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant if it received enough evidence of the guilt of one side or another.
