If the lost passport is of a person sponsored by his family, he must submit a letter about the loss of the passport, signed by the sponsor, and attached to a copy of the sponsor’s passport.
She pointed out that in the Emirate of Dubai, the procedures for losing a passport are linked to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs and the Dubai Courts.
The second step begins after receiving the initial police report, where the person who lost the passport must review the relevant court in the emirate where he resides, as well as the Public Prosecution, and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs that issued his previous visa, in order to document the report in their records.
The third step is after completing these approvals from the above authorities, where the person who lost the passport must return again to the police station through which the report was made, and receive an official certificate of the loss of the passport.
The fourth step is when receiving the official certificate of loss of the passport, the customer must visit his country’s embassy/consulate in the UAE and apply for the issuance of a new passport.
The fifth step: When a new passport is issued to you, you can return to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs and request that the residence visa be installed on your passport.
