Within the framework of the “Dubai Social Agenda 33” launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him”, and in an effort to provide the best educational levels in accordance with the highest international standards in the emirate, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan approved Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, launched a “Dubai Schools” expansion project worth 530 million dirhams, which includes a new school in the Al Khawaneej area, and the expansion of Dubai Schools, Al Barsha branch, adding more than 6,400 school seats, 247 classrooms, and 123 laboratories. And specialized rooms for the educational scene in the emirate, towards increasing the total number of academic seats in the “Dubai Schools” project as a whole to 15,000 seats until the year 2033.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stressed that human, social and economic development are integrated paths in Dubai’s development plans for the coming years and decades, in a pioneering model that combines human building, community development and economic diversification.
His Highness said: “Knowledge is the nucleus of Dubai’s comprehensive social and economic development, and education is its best and most capable tool for sustaining Dubai’s success story, which inspires everyone and consolidates the leadership position it has established among the world’s cities.”
His Highness added: “With the vision of Mohammed bin Rashid, we are establishing an educational renaissance that prepares generations empowered with knowledge, adhering to values and identity. Integration between developing scientific capabilities and learning skills while consolidating principles and ethics builds competencies that are proud of their belonging and are aware of and play their role in creating the future.”
His Highness stressed that the continuous development of education keeps pace with Dubai’s future ambitions and enhances its human capital and places it among the top 10 cities in the world in terms of the quality of education, in a way that supports Dubai Social Agenda 33, which was launched under the title “The Family is the Foundation of the Nation.” His Highness noted the importance of the educational and educational role that “Dubai Schools” plays as a result. The pivotal role of the family in building and dedicating a cohesive, tolerant and united society in Dubai, as it builds the happiest and most interconnected families.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed said: “Dubai Schools is a strategic project in which we invest for the future of our children. An innovative Emirati model
The “Dubai Schools” project is one of the most prominent educational projects in Dubai that was approved by the Executive Council in 2021 to provide a unique and innovative Emirati school model that provides education with world-class standards, enhances values, raises skills, and accommodates and develops the potential of all students, while ensuring affiliation to the Emirati, Arab and Islamic identity. As well as building promising generations that can meet the requirements of the future and the jobs it will create.
These development projects for “Dubai Schools” come as a culmination of the positive results achieved by the schools since their operation, as the schools received 1,205 students in the first academic year, and 1,965 students in the 2022/2023 academic year, while the number of enrollment in the 2023 academic year reached. /2024 A total of 2,580 students, both male and female, which reflects the distinctive educational environment provided by this educational system, which schools currently include students from 38 nationalities around the world.

The new Dubai Schools – Al Khawaneej branch is considered a valuable educational addition, as the school has an area of 446,720 square feet, and will receive students from kindergarten to the twelfth grade, and will gradually add 4,028 additional seats to the Dubai Schools project. The new school, which was designed according to international standards in the field of educational design, includes 149 educational classrooms, 71 laboratories and specialized rooms equipped with the latest technologies to enable students to acquire the necessary skills.
In addition to the educational aspect, the new school in Al Khawaneej is keen to develop students’ fitness, skills and sporting talents through a number of sports facilities that the school contains, including three indoor swimming pools; One of them is a semi-Olympic swimming pool, four indoor gyms, including dedicated gyms for kindergartens, a football field designed to international standards, five outdoor fields, as well as an 11,800 square foot library.
Expansion
As for the Dubai-Al Barsha schools expansion project, it includes constructing buildings to gradually provide 2,408 additional seats for the school, and adding 98 new educational classrooms, bringing the capacity to 3,520 male and female students upon completion of the project.
The expansion also includes sports facilities that include two indoor swimming pools; It includes a semi-Olympic swimming pool, a football field designed to international standards, in addition to two gyms and seven outdoor fields. The Dubai-Al Barsha Schools expansion also adds a new 6,800 square foot library, 52 laboratories and specialized activity rooms.
The projects will be completed on the scheduled opening date in the 2024/2025 academic year, under joint supervision and management between the Knowledge Fund Foundation and Dubai Municipality.
