Although Grand Touring 7 came to market with a series of positive ratings, the last few months have seen several controversies that have ruined the image of this title. From always being connected to an online server, to extremely high prices for cars. On this occasion, it is this last point which has caused discontent with the community.
Recently, several users of Grand Touring 7 have pointed out that during the last update of the game, several legendary cars from the insurance company Hagerty have increased in price. It has been mentioned that, for example, the Ferrari F40 went from being available $1.35 million credits, to $2.6 million. Of the 62 cars available, 27 have gone up in price, 21 have stayed the same, and only two have gone down.
The reason why only the Hagerty insurance legendary cars have fluctuated this way is that, for a strange reason, it tries to follow a similar model with real life. In this way, it would not be surprising if in a matter of months we see an increase or decrease in prices. As expected, this was not to the liking of the fans, who have shown their disagreement on sites like Reddit:
“There’s nothing like playing a game and being reminded that you’re still too poor for anything.”
“The magic of GT for me, when I started the series, was the idea of feeling like the car collector that I will probably never be in real life.
He didn’t have every car, but just about any car he wanted was close at hand.
That’s not the case now. And it ruined the game for me in a lot of ways.”
At the moment there is no official statement from Polyphony Digital and, considering the controversies of the past, it is likely that this is an issue that does not have a solution in favor of users. On related topics, there is already a Gran Turismo series in development. Similarly, here you can check more about the new update of the game.
Editor’s note:
It’s quite sad that Polyphony Digital is ruining your experience due to decisions that may sound quite strange to the common gamer. At least the core experience is pretty solid, which is always nice to see.
