In the first practices of the day, Leclerc had problems with his brakes so he lost a lot of time, although when he finally took to the track he recorded the third fastest time. For FP2, the pilot of ferrari he also got stuck in the pits for a while, but on soft tires he managed to get second, behind his teammate Carlos Sainz.
“In terms of performance, it has been a positive day; in terms of operation, it’s been a very, very difficult day for us. We have had enough problems and a very limited race, we have to catch up in the FP3”, said Leclerc, who for now is 116 points behind Max Verstappenchampionship leader.
The Monegasque pointed out that they still need a greater improvement before Saturday, a day in which he hopes to have more laps in the third practice session before the qualy. “It seems that the performance is good, but we still have to take a step from today to tomorrow. We are going to look for the maximum result.”
