Azul, GOL and Latam announced on Tuesday (May 21) their air networks for the air base that will replace Salgado Filho airport
The price of air tickets to Canoas Air Base (RS) is more expensive than flights to Salgado Filho International Airport in Porto Alegre (RS). The companies Azul, GOL and Latam announced on Tuesday (May 21, 2024) their commercial airline networks for the terminal that will replace the largest airport in the State – paralyzed for an indefinite period by the flood caused by the rains in Rio Grande do Sul.
You tickets Flights can now be purchased on airline websites. All flights leave from São Paulo airports and are negotiated from R$630.55 to R$800.55. Prices are above what was practiced in March 2024, when the average price of a trip from São Paulo to the capital of Rio Grande do Sul was R$483.30.
The data are from Anac (National Civil Aviation Agency). The comparison was made with March of this year because it is the last month with updated ticket price data in the regulatory agency’s database.
Only Azul presented a price below what was charged on the route before Salgado Filho had its operations suspended. On Tuesday (May 21), the company announced that it would fly the Campinas-Canoas route starting at R$737. In March, this route flown by the same company was negotiated at an average of R$819.22.

CANOAS AIR BASE
O Ministry of Ports and Airports announced on Monday (May 20) that airlines were permitted to start selling tickets for commercial flights to Canoas.
On Saturday (May 15), Anac had authorized the operation of civil aviation companies at the military air base in the city of Rio Grande do Sul. The decision was made because Salgado Filho has been closed since May 3rd.
The Canoas terminal is located in the metropolitan area of the capital of Rio Grande do Sul and had already been released by the FAB (Brazilian Air Force) to transport donations destined for the population affected by the historic floods.
According to the government, Fraport, the concessionaire of Porto Alegre airport, will operate, on an emergency basis, the Canoas base for commercial flights.
