Polls open in Italy today for the 2024 European elections. Voting will take place from 8am to 3pm on Saturday 8 June and even the leaders and big names of the various parties are preparing to enter the booth to express their preferences. The Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, will vote today between 3pm and 3.30pm at the polling station of the Vittorio Bachelet school in Rome. Around the same time, she says, the Democratic Party will vote for Elly Schlein: the Democratic secretary will vote in Bologna, in the polling station set up at the Ercolani School.
The secretary of Action, Carlo Calenda, will go to Rome to the ‘Luigi Settembrini’ nursery school at around 3pm to vote.
The leader of +Europa, Emma Bonino, head of the list in the North-West and candidate for the Center for the United States of Europe, will vote at 6pm at the polling station set up at the Vittoria Colonna State Scientific High School. Bonino will be accompanied by the secretary of +Europa, Riccardo Magi.
Nicola Fratoianni of the Alleanza Verdi Sinistra will vote today at 5pm in Foligno at the polling station in via Piermarini. The co-spokesperson of Green Europe and deputy of the Green and Left Alliance will instead vote in Rovereto.
The President of the Senate Ignazio La Russa will vote in Milan, at 3 pm at the polling station in via Antonio Stoppani.
