Lamborghini is still proving cautious in launching the first electric supercar in its range. The Sant’Agata Bolognese brand has launched a plan for sustainable mobility, with the Cor Tauro Management program which clearly establishes the next steps for the Toro brand, with the arrival of the first full electric car no earlier than 2028, with the realization of the Lanzador project, a two-door with crossover style. This is because the Bologna-based car manufacturer is following the market’s reaction to the arrival of more and more EVs with great attention, with the skepticism among motorists that is not fully convincing.
Lamborghini’s electric supercar can wait
In the meantime, however, Lamborghini is working on the electrification of its range: after the Revuelto and the Urus SE it will soon be time for the heir to the Huracan, with farewell to the V10 and the entry of the new plug-in hybrid powertrain made up of a V8 capable to deliver 800 HP. The brand’s CEO Stephan Winkelmann expressed all of Toro’s skepticism towards electric: “Electric supercars are currently not a product that is selling – explained the CEO of the Bolognese car manufacturer, as reported by Automotive News Europe – It is too early and we have to see in the future if and when this will happen.” Meanwhile, Lamborghini continues to closely follow the regulatory evolution regarding synthetic fuels, in particular with a view to 2035.
