About 900 soldiers will take part in the Sapeli 1/22 combat exercise, which began on Friday.

According to the Finnish Armed Forces, this is an exercise led by the Guard Jaeger Regiment, which will be held at the turn of May – June in the areas of Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Upinniemi and Hämeenlinna. The workout, which began on Friday, will end on Thursday, June 2nd.
In the area of the former Malmi airport, the troops will train from 7 am on Monday until the night between Tuesday and Wednesday. During that time, access to the field area will be restricted.
Some training sites use training ammunition that may cause noise in nearby areas. The air defense exercise also generates intermittent aircraft noise in the Helsinki metropolitan area.
Exercise the main goal is to develop the readiness and performance of the Guards Jaeger Regiment’s forces in the built area.
The regular personnel, reservists and conscripts will take part in the Sapeli 1/22 combat exercise. Troops also come from the Armored Brigade and the Pori Brigade. About 900 soldiers will take part in the exercise.
The exercise involves more than 200 vehicles, some of which are armored. Some of the troops are moving in combat gear, which also includes an assault rifle.
