Decision responds to the request of the Public Ministry; construction company is building a project near the high-end condominium Fazenda Boa Vista, in the interior of SP
The court ordered the embargo of all works at the Boa Vista Complex, a 2.6 million square meter project by the company JHSF Participações, in the interior of São Paulo. It also ordered the closure of the area, which should not be used for the entry of residents and for domestic use in areas already inhabited. There is an appeal.
The decision by the TJ-SP (Court of Justice of São Paulo) responded to a request from the MPSP (Public Ministry of São Paulo), which stated that there were irregularities in environmental licenses, damage to the environment and a lack of study of the impacts of the works. Boa Vista Village has an estimated overall sales value of R$4.5 billion.
In case of non-compliance with the decision, there will be a fine of R$500,000 per day, up to a limit of R$20 million.
In a statement, JHSF said that its projects received the necessary legal authorizations and licenses and that its lawyers are analyzing the meaning and scope of the decision. Here's the complete of the note (126 KB).
“The company reinforces that for each of the projects that make up the ventures it has approvals and licenses, which consider cumulative effects, and that it has widely disclosed, through Relevant Facts, Notices to the Market, among others, the particularities of each of these projects”stated JHSF.
