“Foreigners out,” yell the party guests: This happened in an upscale club on Sylt, and a video of it went viral. CDU politician Serap Güler sees this as a symptom of an explosive phenomenon.
Berlin – The young woman is visibly happy as she smiles and sings into the cell phone camera: “Germany for the Germans, foreigners out! Foreigners out!” Then the video shows numerous other young people shouting right-wing extremist slogans. One of them imitates Adolf Hitler and seems to be making a Hitler salute. This happened on Pentecost in Outdoor area of the luxury club “Pony” on Sylt.
Sylt video and Nazi slogans: “Repulsive”
The video has been circulating on social media since Thursday – the day on which the Basic Law, which guarantees human dignity in Germany, turned 75 years old. The outrage is huge. The mayors of the Sylt communities made a statement shortly after the incident became known: “We have zero tolerance for these chants. This behavior is repulsive and completely unacceptable to us.”
There is also great horror in political Berlin about the scenes from Sylt. “Nazi slogans, no matter who they are, where they are and in what condition, are unacceptable,” said CDU Bundestag member Serap Güler in an interview with our editorial team. The politician grew up as the daughter of Turkish immigrants in the Ruhr area in North Rhine-Westphalia; her father worked as a miner. She has been in the Bundestag since 2021, before that she was State Secretary for Integration in the NRW Refugee Ministry.

Sayings like “Foreigners out” are unacceptable: “It’s good that this video has become public”
Since March, Güler has also been leading the CDU’s newly founded migrant network. “With over 25 percent of people in our country having a migration background, it is more than appropriate that a popular party devotes more attention to these people,” said Güler a few months ago in an interview with IPPEN.MEDIASayings like “Foreigners out” are unacceptable for them. “Party mood and champagne are no excuse for such a misstep. It’s good that this video has now been made public and that there is a lot of criticism about it.”
The operators of the “Pony” have distanced themselves from the content and announced that they will file a complaint and ban the guests who are clearly recognizable in the video from entering the premises. “If we had known about the incident, we would of course have thrown the guests in question out of the premises. There is no place for racism!” they wrote on Instagram. In the meantime, they have also been given the names of “these Nazis,” they say in another post. “We will report this disgusting behavior and use all criminal law options!”
Sylt video shows: “Right-wing thinking is catching on in all social classes and is not just an East German problem”
“The video is with the police in Schleswig-Holstein and we will have to wait and see what happens next,” commented CDU politician Güler. “But the video also shows that right-wing thinking is taking hold in all social classes and is by no means a purely East German problem.” Indeed, the partygoers who are chanting their slogans are wearing white shirts and sweaters over their shoulders: children of rich parents like to party in the Sylt establishment.
