The CBR has come up with something again. This time it’s about the theory exam
It’s a necessary evil; the theory exam. If you want to get a driver’s license, you will have to believe it. First a day of studying in the – digital or otherwise – book, then a ride to a hall and then take the exam.
Most people succeed immediately, but there are also people who have a little more trouble with it. Fortunately, they know more about drink and drugs, let’s think. But that aside. (oh yes, if you find this stigmatizing, just click on the link. Then you get it.)
But the CBR has come up with something new to make the theory exam easier / more difficult. And here too, multiple answers can be correct.
CBR makes theory exam easier/more difficult
In the past, in the good old days when the undersigned took exams, it was all nice and clear. I received questions of the level “You want to turn here, is that allowed?” and then I could choose between yes and no. That’s all there was.
Multiple choice questions were added later. Then you have to think about “You want to return here, is that allowed?” and then you could choose between yes, no and maybe. But that wasn’t complicated/easy enough according to the CBR, so they have something new.
And they call that the so-called multiple response question.
This means that more than one answer can be correct. Or wrong, that’s also possible. As an example, we have taken the exercise below from the theory exam. Several answers are possible here.
In the example above, multiple answers can be correct. And the nice thing is, we discussed it here in the editors and we can’t figure it out. I think bicycles and lawnmowers from the municipality, but the latter is not listed. So I am in doubt and in case of doubt it is always B.
@willeme know for sure that it is mopeds that have to ride on the bicycle lane and that everyone else just has to enjoy the cycle path and @wouter finally has nothing to do with bicycle lanes and says that it is therefore a trick question.
CBR makes doing exams great/annoying/meh
Anyway. The new question format has already been used by the CBR as a test question in the theory exam in recent weeks. Apparently it went so well that they continue with it. The multiple response question will first be included in the theory exam for the car, followed by the theory exams for the motorcycle and moped.
So, be warned if you still have to pass your theory, it hasn’t gotten any easier/harder.
And finally, can someone tell us what the answer is to the question? We can’t figure it out.
